THE REPAIR JOURNAL
Most covers come with a thin string in the bottom hem. You pull it tight, tie a little bow, and think you are safe. You aren’t.
Friction Failure
Drawstrings rely on friction against the smooth metal legs of your chair. Wet metal is slippery. The string slides up, the cover pops off.
The Buckle Solution
You need mechanical engagement. An adjustable wind strap goes over the entire furniture piece and buckles underneath. It physically cannot slide off. It creates a closed loop that the wind cannot break.
The Bottom Line
A drawstring is a suggestion. A buckle is a command.
