THE REPAIR JOURNAL
You cover your furniture to keep it clean, but sometimes you uncover it to find it covered in fuzz. Mold needs two things: moisture and stagnant air.
Don’t Seal it Tight
A cover lying flat against a table surface traps ground moisture. It sweats. By using a support pole, you lift the fabric off the surface.
The Air Gap
This creates an air gap. Air can circulate under the cover, evaporating condensation before mold spores can take hold. A tented cover breathes; a flat cover suffocates.
The Bottom Line
Dry furniture isn’t just about stopping rain from the top; it is about managing moisture from below.
