That black fabric hanging underneath your sofa isn’t just for looks. It keeps pests out of your cushions. Here is how to replace it in under 20 minutes.
1. Flip and Strip
Turn the sofa upside down. Use a flathead screwdriver or a staple remover to pull out the old, rusty staples. Remove the tattered fabric completely.
2. Align the New Fabric
Lay your new high-density dust cover over the frame. Don’t pull it too tight yet. Use a few tack nails to hold the corners in place.
3. Staple and Trim
Work from the center out to the corners. Staple every 2 inches. Once it is secure, use sharp scissors to trim the excess fabric along the edge of the wood.
